Air start unit Safety protection and emergency measures
7.1. Protection of Aircraft:
Mechanical pressure safety valve
When the pressure of the gas supply system exceeds 50psi, the safety valve operates and releases gas to maintain the gas supply pressure of the system.
The gas supply pressure protection switch
When the pressure of the gas supply system exceeds 44psi, the pressure switch operates to implement gas supply protection.
The unit protection is cut off in the starting mode
When the "selector switch" on the operation panel is turned to the "Aircraft Start" position, all protection functions of the crew will be cut off.

7.2. Protection of the unit:
Protection against high engine water temperature
When the temperature of the coolant in the radiator exceeds 103℃, the unit will automatically shut down and the high engine water temperature indicator light on the operation panel will light up.
Low engine oil pressure protection
When the engine oil pressure drops below 270kPa, the unit will automatically shut down and the low engine oil pressure indicator light on the operation panel will light up.
Low engine coolant level protection
When the engine coolant level is low, the unit will automatically shut down and the low coolant level indicator light on the operation panel will light up.
Protection for high oil temperature of the compressor
When the oil temperature of the compressor exceeds 76℃, the unit will automatically shut down and the high oil temperature indicator light on the operation panel will light up.
Low oil pressure protection for the compressor
When the oil pressure of the compressor drops below 50kPa, the unit will automatically shut down and the indicator light for low oil pressure of the compressor on the operation panel will light up.
Protection for high gas supply temperature of the compressor
When the gas supply temperature of the compressor exceeds 220℃, the unit will automatically shut down and the high gas supply temperature indicator light on the operation panel will light up.
Charge protection
When the charging system malfunctions, the charging protection indicator light on the operation panel lights up.
Emergency shutdown
The operation panel is equipped with an emergency stop button. In case of an emergency, pressing the button will manually force the engine to stop the oil supply.
